Mojo Monday 326, New Mercies

This is the very first Mojo Monday challenge I have participated in.  I also just received my first Verve stamps in the mail.  I won some of them through SCS Hope you can cling to.  I love the verse that says God's mercies are new each morning.

cQc221, Toiling Around...

This card is for another challenge from the Colour Queen challenge.  The colors are baked brown sugar, bermuda bay, midnight muse, coastal cabana, and white.  This was pretty much all playing and experimental.  First I stamped on my toile stamps from SU with a few of the colored markers.  I wanted the colors more blended so ended up spraying not only my paper, but my stamp.  I sponged the edges and added a few pearls.  I used a inkadinkado stamp for the sentiment - using a few punches and some seam binding.  It was fun to create.  Thanks or looking!!

Saturday, December 21, 2013

This card was made for the color challenge #272.  The colors for this challenge were baja breeze, certainly celery, orchid opulence, smoky slate, and white.  I used my SU flowers and punch.  I also used the grid stamp and some washi tape.  The I love you stamp is from inkadinkado.  Thanks for looking.  Wishing everyone a healthy and happy holiday.

cQc220, Flowers for you...

This card was made for the color queen challenge #220.  The colors were brown sugar, coastal cabana, strawberry slush, summer starfruit, and white.  I didn't have the starfruit so used curry instead.  The hummingbird comes from the SU Elements of Style set.  The rest of the stamps were from a SAB set from last year.  I paper pierced also, which I haven't done in a long time.

Sad...

I made this sympathy card for myself.  I used this as part of the grieving process.  I lost my fuzzy friend On Wednesday Dec. 11th.  It was a very painful 24 hours as my husband and I went back and forth to the emergency clinic for pets 5 times.  At the finish of this I asked for confirmation from God that we were doing the right thing in letting him go.  God did assure us.  There were so many things that went wrong so fast.  I am still not able to think about it in detail or picture any of what went on.  I thank my friends for understanding.  I know that others can relate as they too have lost their dear friends.  It hurts.  I have always liked this stamp set from SU and it is now that I find comfort from it myself.

F4A198, MIX45, cQc218, Christmas Holly...

This card was done for three challenges.  The Free for all challenge asked that we use some holly on our card.  The Mix challenge asked that we use chalk inside of a stencil.  The color queen challenge had us using lime aid, red, Bermuda Bay, and Cool Caribbean.  So, I made my own stencil and then used chalk - the colors of the color challenge.  And the holly speaks for itself.  Three challenges - good for me.  Thanks for looking!!

CC455, Daffodil Poinsettias...

This card was made for the color challenge on SCS.  Karen picked the colors of daffodil delight, gold, and wild wasabi.  I didn't have any gold paper so I went with gold embossing.  I embossed my image, watercolored it, and then fussy cut it out.  I then embossed the sentiment and some snow.  I'm pretty pleased with it as it was not the first thing I attempted.  Thank you Karen for your creative challenge.

CTD269, FLLC, Thanksgiving Figs

This challenge was done for the color throw down - #269.  The colors were dusty durango, peach parfait, soft suede, pear pizzazz, and very vanilla.  I substituted cajun craze for the durango, and pumpkin pie for the peach.  I watercolored the fig image from Flourishes.  I added a bit of colored pencil to enhance the shading a bit.  The embossed panel was done with the SU wallpaper folder.  My sentiment comes from SU's tiny wishes.  I attached a piece of ribbon with a pin.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!  :>)

CC451, Warm Poinsettia...

This card was made for the 451st color challenge on SCS.  Nancy picked these colors.  At first I wasn't sure what I thought.  Getting closer to Christmas I thought of a poinsettia.  As it turned out, I think these colors worked very well for this.  I watercolored with real red, calypso coral, and old olive.  I also used a poinsettia embossing folder to add a little texture to my card.  I'm happy with how it turned out.  Thanks for looking!!  :>)

Three Times Grateful - SC460, CTD266, FTTC244

I made this card for three challenges.  The first one was the sketch challenge on SCS.  The second challenge was the color throw down challenge in which the colors were blushing bride, old olive, cherry cobbler, and co coa.  The third challenge was the timeless tuesday challenge in which we were supposed to use plaid.  I water colored my leaves and made them coming down along with a little rain.  I was pleased to be able to combine these challenges today;  I generally don't do much of that.  Thanks for looking at my card.  :>)

CAS240, Pinterest Inspiration...

We were given a beautiful Pinterest scene and asked to make a clean and simple card out of it.  I don't know how clean or simple mine turned out, but I was definitely inspired by it.  I really loved the green pillar and the red trimmed window.  I wanted to make that more of a focal point, but then my pumpkin took over.  It was fun!!  Here is the site, http://www.pinterest.com/pin/231935449531331294/

CQC208, Red and Black Leaves...

I really liked the colour challenge over at the colour queen site this week.  We were to use black and white and chose the third color.  I think it's fun to have a bit of freedom.  While taking a walk this morning I saw some red leaves that had black on them.  I thought of the challenge and was there with an idea.  My leaves do not look like the one I saw.  I tried to capture that look, but it got messy looking.  Anyway, thanks for looking and enjoy the fall.  We are now having some awesome days.  :>)

FS346, Casing Indycurt, Fall Colors

This card is for the featured stamper who is Curt from Indiana.  He used versamark and gold embossing powder and I  thought I would give it a try.  I don't often emboss and especially with the gold powder.  I really like dimension, so I had to at least pop up the one leaf.  Thanks for looking!!  Enjoy the fall colors!!

CTD260, Fall Mums...

This card was made for the 260th Color Throw Down!!  Boy do I love color, but this one was tough for me.  The colors are baked brown sugar, pistachio pudding, tangerine tango, and orchid opulence.  I'm not sure if the white was part of the colors this week, or not.  White to me does not belong with these colors.  I tried doing some heat embossing and then sponging with the brown sugar, but that didn't look so hot.  There are Queen Anne's Lace on the pistachio piece.  The tangerine was dry embossed and then the tangerine as well as orchid were stamped on the white.  I used a sentiment and tied a piece of cord to it.  At any rate, it's off of my plate.  :>)  Thanks for looking!!  I would love to see what you can come up with.  :>)

CC444 - Fall Gratefulness...

Nancy Littrell is our hostess for the color challenge on SCS.  She chose a bunch of fall colors - very vanilla, tangerine tango, crushed curry, cajun craze, and chocolate chip.  WOW!!  As usual I found these colors fitting for leaves.  The desert option was to fussy cut.  I did plenty of that and enjoyed it.  This is the first card I have made in a week.  I had the worst flu (not that there is any good variety.)  I feel thankful to be well enough to craft again.  It does lift one's spirits.  Thanks for looking and enjoy the colors of fall.

CC443, Each Day is a Gift...

Happy Tuesday!!  It is the color challenge day on SCS.  Karen Barber picked strawberry slush, pear pizzazz, and midnight muse.  I used my Tim Holtz maple leaf and stamped it in the pear.  I cut it out and then sponged on the strawberry.  A total clean and simple card today.

CTD258, Sunflower of another kind...

This card is for the Color Throw Down Challenge.  I started in a much different direction and then ended up using my sunflower stamp that was hiding under some papers.  The colors are soft sage, kiwi kiss, old olive, chocolate chip, and white.  I embossed my dp.  I used markers directly on my stamp.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!!  :>)

cQc205, Falling Down...

What fun making this card!!  It is for the Colour Queen Challenge #205.  The colors are Island Indigo, Basic Gray, Regal Rose, Raspberry Ripple, and White.  I used washi tape for my gray and indigo stripes.  I love that stuff!!  So fun and easy to use.  The maple leaf is one of Tim Holtz's.  I stamped it in regal rose and then touched it up with the raspberry ripple.  Fun!!  Thanks for looking!!  :>)

CC441, Bluebird thinking of you...

This card is for the 441 Color Challenge on SCS.  I have had the privilege of being a hostess on the design team for the last 4 months.  This is my last card - kind of sad.  Becky picked the colors night of navy, cajun craze, and soft sky.  The dessert option was to make a masculine card.  I used the Bluebird image from PSX.  I watercolored it.  I used the leaf embossing folder.  I found a twig in my back yard and then popped my bird up.  I enjoyed making this card and am pleased with how it turned out.  It's nice to have another masculine card in my stash.

Unity Color Challenge - Feel the Love...

Unity Stamp Co. picked a beautiful color palette for their color challenge this week.  The colors are not labeled with names, but I took them as summer sun, more mustard, crumb cake, and sage shadow.  I used their stamp set called Feel the Love.  I first stamped on vanilla the image with various colors on it.  I then sponged my colors of choice, and then heat embossed the image and sentiment again.  I did a little dry embossing as well, and used an antique brad.  I just love these colors.  Thanks for looking!!  Don't be afraid to jump in on some color challenges this fall.

CC439 - Bright Sweetpeas...

I had the privilege of hostessing the color challenge on SCS this week.  I chose bright colors, as the summer is coming to a close.  They are melon mambo, daffodil delight, and old olive.  The dessert option was to use flowers either in an image, brad, die cut, or whatever else.  I used a Flourish image - Sweet peas and watercolored them.  I also used an embossing folder.  Thanks for looking!!  Come play with us!!  :>)

CC437, FLLC, Hummingbird...

This card was made for the color challenge.  Karen really picked some awesome ones too.  They are the new in colors - strawberry slush, pistachio pudding, and baked brown sugar.  The "dessert" was to create your own designer paper.  I used the lovely Hummingbird set from Flourishes.  The top panel with the flowers was watercolored.  I used dimensionals and a new embellishment that goes with the new in colors.  I enjoyed this challenge and am happy with how my card turned out.  Thanks for looking!!  Please join us in the color challenges every Tuesday on SCS.  :>)

CTD251, CAS, SUO, Pansies...

This card was created for the color throw down - #251.  It is CAS and it used SU products only.  I used the new pansy blooms and the punch that goes with it.  The bg uses the itty bitty bg set.  The sentiment is one of the short and sweet ones with the punch that goes with that.  I used some ribbon and a brad.

CC435, New Beginnings...

This week Becky chose are colors for us.  They are cantaople crisp, baked brown sugar, wisteria wonder, and vanilla.  I used colored pencils to color my image.  I used an embossing folder and popped up that bg panel.  I used a corner punch, brad, and sentiment in my corner.  It was interesting for me to work with these new soft colors.

CTD250, 5 year anniversary, Flower Explosion...

We are celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Color Throw Down.  This is the 250th one.  The colors are melon mambo, so saffron, Bermuda Bay, and crumb cake.  I simply stamped my flowers in the colors and used the crumb cake as my main card base.  What an awesome challenge this has been.  Thank you to the ladies that are involved with this and keep it running.  You're awesome!!

CTD250, 5 year anniversary, watercolored flowers...

This card is for the celebration of the 5 year anniversary of the color throw down.  How exciting!!  I recently purchased this Penny Black stamp.  The colors for this challenge are so saffron, melon mambo, Bermuda bay, and crumb cake.  I watercolored the flowers and stems, and then used the crumb cake as my bg with the En Fracais stamp from SU.  I attached a seam binding bow.

MIX22, Red, White, and Blue...

What a fun challenge this was.  I used direct to paper ink and then blobbed some white acrylic on it and scraped it with a credit card.  I added some glittered spots and used a few stamps to make a collage of sorts.  Thanks for looking!!  Give this a try if you want to have some fun!!  :>)

CC433, Happy 4th...

Today was my turn to hostess the color challenge on SCS.  Since we are so close to the 4th of July, I decided it would be fun to use red, white, and blue.  I made the dessert to make a patriotic card.  My stars are designer paper, the stripes I created with a striped embossing folder.  I stamped my eagle and colored his eye and beak with colored pencils.  I then added a little ribbon threader with some red ribbon.  There you have it!  Hope you have a fun and safe 4th of July!!  :>)
