CC354, SUO, Summer flowers...

This card is kind of a clean and simple for today's color challenge.  I used all SU products.  The colors for today are calypso coral, wisteria wonder, and lucky limeaid.  I used markers.  For a little extra interest I did some paper piercing.

Seed Packet - Sheri's Garden...

I made this card for my sister.  I used a photo of some of the veges from her garden.  The seed packet comes from Flourishes.  I plan to give my sister a garden themed gift for Christmas this year and this card will be among it.

QFTD91 - Christine...

This was a fun, relatively quick card I made to honor Christine this week.  She was picked as the queen for the week.  I used DRS Designs snow flake, and SU's Four the Holidays Merry Christmas.

DRS Design - Red, white, and green challenge...

This card is for the DRS Design Challenge - to use red, white, and green.  Both of the stamps used are from DRS.  I used the snowflake folder to emboss, and added some rhinestones for sparkle.

FTTC146 - Orchid Bookmark...

It's been a long time since I've posted on my blog - lazy or not feeling like I'm stamping that well perhaps.  This book mark is an entry into Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge.  We were to use a tag, a flower, and a ribbon.  I do believe I accomplished that in this book mark.  It was fun to make and it got me back on my blog.  Yeah!!

Speedy's Friends' Challenge #74 Wings and Things...

This was a quick card for Speedy's Challenge to use something with wings on it.  I used one of MFP's stamps, stamped it in black and did my card in vanilla and black.  It was pretty quick and easy (for a change.)  :>)

SC352, A Rainy Morning...

Today was sketch challenge day.  I really loved this sketch.  When walking my dogs this morning, it was kind of dark and rainy.  I wanted to see if I could capture some of that emotion.  I used a scalloped circle to help me with my cloudy sky.  All of the blue in this card is not quite navy, by SU.  I like how my rainy sky turned out.

Blue Poinsettia...

I recently purchased this PSX stamp and even got it on sale.  I think PSX stamps are so wonderful.  They have lots of flowers and botanicals, unfortunately they are now out of business.  You can find some on ebay.  Anyway, I did my first card with this stamp in pinks, and wanted to try it in blues.  I watercolored the image and paired it with some green dp.  Fun!

Flourishes Siberian Iris - For Me...

I posted this card on SCS and said that I did this just for me.  I love doing the challenges, but sometimes it's fun to just do what we want to do.  Of course, I think the challenges help to grow us and show us how to do things we wouldn't otherwise think of doing.  I love watercoloring, and I love this image, so it just made sense that I paint this today.

CC340, Fall Hydrangea...

This card was made for the color challenge and we were to use pool party, poppy parade, and peach parfait.  I used a fun collage stamp that I really like.

QFTD78...

This card was inspired by one of Dianne's on SCS.  She was the 78th queen for a day.

Always Thankful...

I just made this card purely for fun.  I watercolored the pumpkins and decided to make a little pumpkin patch.  I used the work "Grateful" from the new SU set, Always Thankful.  I love fall and the warmth from all of the colors, the fleece tops and sweatshirts.  I wish it would last longer.

FTTC133, Timeless Tuesday - Orchids amongst the Leaves

I made this card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday bingo game.  I chose the row that had embossing, pearls, and pink in it.  I started off having so many more papers involved and then it surprised me as it got more simple.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #70 - Hollyhocks

The challenge was to use lace this time.  The image is of hollyhocks from Pears and Hollyhocks from Mark's Finest Papers.  It was fun making a soft distressed vintage card today.

Christmas Poinsettia 2011...

I love PSX stamps, and I felt fortunate to find this stamp on sale at a nearby stamp store.  I embossed the image on watercolor paper, and then watercolored it.  My glue pen was not working, so it was tricky to find something that would allow me to add a little glitter to the leaves.

Speedy the Cat's 67th Challenge - Summer Colors...

I did this card for Speedy the Cat's 67th challenge.  I used the Pear and hollyhock set from Mark's Finest Papers.  I also used some SU dp and some of the in colors.  It's time to use that poppy parade and pear pizzazz before summer vanishes on us.  We were to make a card any size other than the typical A2 card.  I did a square card.

FLLC, Sweet Peas and Doilies...

I recently got the new SU set delicate doilies.  I wanted to combine it with the sweet peas from Flourishes.  It took me a while to figure out the colors and design, but I think I am happy with it.

WT334, To use Kraft...

I was looking through my stamp sets, and found this wonderful old set.  I decided to watercolor it and make it for one of my dear friends.  She also happens to be my SU demo.  I am so thankful to her for many things, and one of them is getting me into stamping.

TLC336, To use a sentiment on top of something else...

This was a technique challenge and we were to use our sentiment on top of an image, or something else.  I used this set from Tim Holtz.  His stamps are easy to create a nice looking card with.  I used daffodil delight, old olive, and navy.

WT332 - Metals...

Today's challenge on SCS was called Heavy Metal.  We were to use metal.  I used tin foil for my embossed bg.  I also used a piece of hodgepodge hardware from SU.  My cord is silver and looks like some kind of metal, and my image is most likely made of tin.  So that's it, my heavy metal.

CC332, Life is a Journey...

I was so excited about today's color challenge that I had to do another card.  I watercolored my blue bird, and added a piece of Basic Grey dp to my card.  I think I have only used this stamp once or twice before.  I'd like to use it more and see what I can come up with.

CC332, Tri-Colored Daisies...

Today's color challenge was to use the new blue from SU (pool something), wild wasabi, and chocolate chip.  I substituted the blue with cool caribbean.  I used prisma colored pencils with a little goo gone to blend.  I embossed "with love."  It's kind of a clean and simple card.

TLC334, Color Blocking Clematis...

This card was made for the technique lover's challenge.  It is called color blocking.  I inked up a small square acrylic block with crumb cake, edging it with either artichoke or blue.  You really can't tell so much now as I have embossed my paper.  I also used a bit of the itty bitty bg to dot some more of the color.  My work doesn't show too much.  I later chose to use some ribbon to emphasize my brick wall, but it may have ended up losing it. I created the clematis flowers with an old flower punch from SU.  It was a fun little project, and an easy technique.

Speedy's Friends Challenge #64, Nature's Postage...

This is my first challenge card for Speedy's Friends.  It is #64.  I'm not sure if I'll do this all right.  I am still new to blogs and don't do facebook, but am rather enjoying Mark's Finest blog and TV site called Speedy's Friends.  I hope I said that all right.  Anyway, it was fun doing this challenge.  It's also fun to see what the other stampers have done with their colors and various stamp sets.

WT331, Music in the Parlor...

This is another collage for Collette's challenge on Thursday.  I love collage because you can totally be creative and even tell a story that isn't maybe obvious.  I used a set called Timeless Treasures from SU.  I love antiques and vintage things.

WT331, Twine Collage...

Collette gave us the challenge to make a crazy collage on SCS for this past Thursday.  We were to use at least 4 stamps.  I used 5.  Can you find them??

FLLC, Raspberries Anyone??...

I made this card purely for my own enjoyment.  I finally had the courage to try coloring (watercoloring) these yummy raspberries from Flourishes.  I also used a great new little stamp from SU, and used the new punch that goes with it.

Orchids for Mom... (Flourishes)

This is a Flourishes image - Orchids.  I used prisma colored pencils to color the image.  I used two embossing folders.  I made this card for my mom.

FLLC, Spring Poppies...

I had a great time making this card.  I was sort of losing motivation, or just not knowing what direction to go in.  My friend told me to find some dp and some matching card stock, and then to use a poppy image.  So that is what I did.  I'm quite happy with how this card turned out.  It is a Flourishes image, and I watercolored it.  The dp is basic grey. The cardstock is all SU.

Faux Linen (my first attempt)

This was the first time I attempted the faux linen technique.  It was fun, and I like how my card turned out.  I ended up using some ruby red, which I seldom use so enjoyed that. You can find the directions and a tutorial on SCS by Beate.  I made my own dp with SU's En Francais and Bella Toille.  My sentiment is from Tim Holtz.  The sanded image was a freesia by Heritage Farms, which unfortunately is now out of business.  Try this technique.  It will help spice up your stamping life.  :>)

Dad's Father's Day Card 2011...

This card is for Father's Day.  The bird, like my dad is/was helping to build a good home. I love this set;  it is Nature Walk from SU.

Old Things are Better...

This card is for my dad's birthday.  I titled this "Old Things are Better".  They are you know.  Things in the old days were made to last longer.  There was more quality in the past.  I'm sounding like an old codger now, huh?!  Well it's true. I hope my dad likes his distressed card.

WT326, Because I Care...

This card was made on the same day as the Ways to Use it challenge.  We were supposed to do some paper piercing.  I really was just making a card with the blue and pink designer paper and wasn't all that much thinking about paper piercing.  I will confess, that I loaded it up under the challenge so that others would see my card.  My friend Pam and I joked about my card having layers just like ogres have layers. :>)

SC336, Live with Passion...

This is another sketch challenge card from yesterday.  I kept this extremely simple, and just used designer paper from SU.

SC336, Cherry Blossoms...

This was yesterday's sketch challenge.  A lot of us really liked it.  I made a second one as well.

CC326, Gold Embossed Sweet Peas...

This is the card I made for this week's color challenge.  The colors were shades of pink - pink pirouette, regal rose, and melon mambo (light, med., dark).  I embossed my sweet pea image from Flourishes with gold embossing powder.  I then did some cutting and tried to make a bit of a mixed bouquet.

Cards for MFP Swap...

These cards are for a Mark's Finest Paper Swap.  I used the Pear and Hollyhock set.  We were to make 4 cards with one of their images on it to swap with those participants that signed up to do so.

CC325, Bright Spring Pansies...

This was my last card for helping out with the CC design team in May.  Now this is what a color challenge is truly about.  I felt the other colors went together well.  These colors today were delightful daffodil, rich razzleberry, and pacific point (blue).  This really isn't far off from what pansies can look like, but I'm not use to this brightness.  I feel my card looks gaudy.  I wonder if that is what others see, or if some like this type of thing.  Anyway, I thank Bettty for calling me to help the team.

Morning Glories or Petunias??

I just felt like watercoloring and grabbed this image from SU.  I did them in shades of pinks, which has me thinking that they look like petunias.  I searched for some dp to go with this image, and decided I'd make it a clean card.  I like how it turned out.

Color Challenge 324 - Spring Iris...

Karen Barber picked some lovely colors for today's color challenge.  They are perfect plum, soft suede, and baja breeze.  I softly water colored my Siberian Iris from Flourishes.  I put an embossed layer behind my flower and popped the flower up.  I really like the colors.

CC323, Sweet peas from Flourishes...

This is the second card I made for this week's challenge.  Rich razzleberry, regal rose, and vanilla were the colors.  I incorporated some black and dp to match.  Such a fun color challenge and lots of nice cards on SCS showing it.

CC323, Cherry Blossoms with a butterfly

This is the first card I made for this week's color challenge.  We were to use rich razzleberry, regal rose, and vanilla.  What a lovely combination.  The butterfly was the dessert this week.  I matched the dp I used.

Dark, Vintage Sunflowers...

This was supposed to be a color challenge card, but it was seen that these colors were posted on the CC247 challenge.  Before I knew that I created the card.  My sunflowers are stamped in soft suede with a bit of black.  I tore the edges and sponged with both colors, giving it a burnt or vintage look. I used a piece of dp and a decorative brad from SU.

SC332, Medallion in Hiding...

This was the sketch challenge card for Wednesday's sketch.  I flipped the sketch.  My colors were pixie pink and black, with white.  I used the medallion.  Do you see it??

Hollyhocks in blushing bride...

I was purely experimenting today when stamping my hollyhocks image from Mark's Finest Papers.  I used blushing bride to watercolor them, some dp with similar colors, and also did a bit of dry embossing.  I used ribbon and made a sentiment using similar colors as well.  I'm happy with the way it turned out.

CC322, Pansies in Springtime...

This card was made for this week's color challenge.  The colors were so saffron, certainly celery, and blushing bride.  I watercolored the pansies in these colors and added some designer paper with similar colors.  I used ribbon and the desert option of a floral button.  Thanks for looking and enjoy all of the blooming that's going on.  :>)

CC321, FLLC, White Orchids...

Today's color challenge is number 321 with the colors of crumb cake, cherry cobbler, and black.  I was asked to be a guest of the CC hostess for the month of May.   I was and still am excited about it, as it is really one of my most favorite challenges.
I used a beautiful floral image from Flourishes;  it is the Orchid set.  I water colored it.  I used some great dps from Basic Grey, and a bow out of seam binding ribbon.  Very fun, and a nice color combination I think.  Have a great day!!  :>)

Spontaneous Mother's Day Card...

I started cleaning up my desk a bit today and found this image from Flourishes already colored.  These are magnolias that I colored with copics.  The designer papers are from Basic Grey.  The solid colors are pretty in pink, pink pirouette, and early expresso all from SU.  The lace is from Mark's Finest Papers.  The corner punch was done with a SU punch, and the gem was from Hobby Lobby.  It was nice to use some of the things that have been sitting on my desk.

I hope all of the mom's out there have a nice day.  I only have my Shih tzus, which is mostly a joy.  Being a mother is a full time job that never ends.  God bless you all.  :>)

IC282, Spring Friend...

Today's card was made from the Inspiration 282 - Website, Wild Wings.  This is the picture I used, http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1964706?&cat=12528.  I watercolored it and did some sponging.  I used a few sets from SU:  Spring Song and Morning Soft.  It was fun, but took me a little longer than I would have liked.

WT318, CAS, SUO To thine ownself be kind...

This was a ways to challenge and we were supposed to have a person in our card.  I think I only own this one set from SU.  I colored it in pencil.  I made my clouds by using a scalloped circle and sponging around it with baja breeze and blushing bride.  It's also a clean and simple card.
