Yesterday was Valentine's Day and my dear friend and SU Demo, Eileen, delivered my new goodies. I wanted to use the Springtime Vintage dp, and chose the Garden from the Heart set from last year's mini. I paper pieced the gloves and the ribbon in the hat with some of the dp. I watercolored the rest of the image. I paper pierced and mounted my image on always artichoke card stock. I also added two ribbon tabs with matching ribbon. My bg is embossed, and I have a piece of lace separating the vanilla from the dp. I enjoyed making this card because while doing so I thought of my love of gardening.

This card is for Tuesday's color challenge. We were to used delightful daffodil, not quite navy, and cajun craze. I watercolored my rose and the leaves with those colors. I framed my image with cajun craze, and then used the itty bitty bg stamp to apply some spatters of cajun craze. I added some daffodil ribbon tabs, and some cajun brads.
I made this card on Monday. I had a wonderful conversation with my dad about all of the various species of flowers. We got to talking about morning glories. I love the beautiful blue variety. I look forward to planting them this year. Anyway, the next closest thing was to go watercolor some. I used the Morning Soft set from SU. I tore my paper and sponged a little crumb cake ink on it. I used a piece of Basic Grey dp, some lace, and a button. Not too tough.

Today was the Inspiration Challenge in which we were directed to the Uncommon Goods website. I took my inspiration from this...http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/earth-tones-sea-glass-bracelet.
This is what I created. I set up a still life with my two sea shells, and took that picture. I used that as my background and added the eight punched flowers in the colors from my inspiration piece. I added some silver cord, and the word "create" and that was my card.

Friday's challenge on SCS is the Free For All. We were to use white or vanilla, another neutral color, and then pick an additional color of our choice. We were only to stamp with one color. I chose white and black, and made my other color pixie pink. I used SU's Elements of Style image and stamped it with black. I pierced around the edges, and added a few rhinestones for a bit of bling. Fairly simple, unless you don't like cutting.

This is the home made designer paper I made yesterday. It very much resembles Basic Grey's Indian Summer. Anyway, I thought it was much too pretty to use as background paper, so I decided to showcase it. I used some more mustard and purely pomegranate card stock from SU, and mounted it on their expresso. I think it illustrates fall beautifully.

We had a big blizzard here the past day or two. I decided to do something to help me think of warm times. I started playing with a stamp from Unity and the next thing I new I was looking at the Basic Grey Indian Summer Designer Paper. I wanted to create my own paper with similar stamps and colors. The Basic Grey is on the left, and my piece is on the right. It was fun playing and brought me joy. Now I will have to think of what I will do with this - use it as background or showcase it in some way. Until later...
